South Pasadena (all within 2 miles of the Inn)

  • Gus’s Barbeque – excellent ribs, chicken, tri-tip, etc. Very casual atmosphere.  Also have great salmon and salads.
  • Shiro’s – French Japanese. #15 on Zagat’s best restaurants in LA. A real gem in our midst.
  • Aro Latin - Oaxacan-Indian fusion cuisine. Unique flavors and one of our favorites. Reasonably priced.
  • Patakan – local Thai. Very causal. 
  • Mamma's Brick Oven Pizza & Pasta – local pizza that delivers.

Pasadena (all within 5 miles)

  • Arroyo Chop House – Classic steakhouse.   #17 on Zagat’s best restaurants in LA. Pricey but worth it.
  • Parkway Grill – same owners as Arroyo Chop House.  Long time Pasadena standby. American food with a flair. Try the flat bread with cambozola cheese, walnuts, sautéed pears appetizer.   
  • Union– less than 2 years old but draws people from all over LA. Thrillist 50 places to eat in LA before you die. 
  • Mi Piace – causal Italian in Old Town Pasadena. Very comfortable, reasonable prices and valet parking right in front.  One of our standby favorites. 
  • Hippo - trendy new restaurant in Highland Park. Featuring a variety of creative American style dishes and small plates.
  • Paul Martin’s – a chain but excellent food. New to Pasadena but already has lots of fans.  American food reasonably priced.
  • Saladang – Thai.  Very causal but excellent food.
