The Story of South Pasadena

South Pasadena is a small city with a population of about 25,000 located in Los Angeles County. Originally inhabited by the Tongva Tribe, who were later colonized by the Spanish, South Pasadena is home to a number of the most historic sites in the Los Angeles area. The Arroyo Seco, which the Arroyo Vista Inn, practically cascades over, was once a major gateway for aboriginals, frequently used for travel and trade.

On March 2, 1888, the City of South Pasadena was the 6th municipality incorporated into Los Angeles County. The Mission District located a little less than a mile away from the inn now features quaint shops, restaurants and coffee shops, but was once part of the original US Route 66.
